I personally think its very difficult to determine if a part is "quality" based on the brand. There is constant changes is supply chain, company, etc, that there is no way to keep track. The online discussions focus on someone who hates a brand from 1 bad case or simply because they are racist against the company's origin country...
Some good metrics are:

- Size of company
- Supplier to OEMs

Qaultiy Control / Testing
Some components have specified testing requirements to ensure lifespan. If cheap components meet these requirements, you can just get those!
