Pell Grant

• Only for first time undergraduate degrees
• Can apply to some programs that have only teaching certs no bachelors or ms in teaching
  • those generally are $15k+ online (none nearby)

Opportunity Grant

• Cannot have a previous college degree from the U.S.**
• receive funds to cover tuition and mandatory fees up to 45 credits and up to $1,000 for required books and supplies per academic year

Worker Retraining

  • Eligible students can receive up to $4,000 in grants that do not have to be paid back.

• Teacher Shortage Conditional Scholarship
  • open Fall 2026
  • provides funding of up to $8,000 per year for up to four years
    • toward earning a Washington Residency Teacher Certificate
  • Teach in a Washington State K-12 public common
  • two full-time school years for each year of conditional scholarship received
  • Serve as a certificated employee in a shortage area in an approved education program for one full-time school year for each year of conditional scholarship received
• Alternative Routes Conditional Scholarship
  • An applicant must be accepted into and maintain enrollment in an Alternative Route teacher certification program and intend to pursue an initial teacher’s certificate with an endorsement in a shortage area.
  • No repayment
  • Ask the program provider if they have Alternative Routes Conditional Scholarship funds
